Day 16

Happy Wednesday!  Tomorrow is our Grandparent day, hoping to see many of these kids grandparents here.

Today was a fabulous day, your children have earned their first class reward of the year.  They will decide tomorrow what they would like to do for that reward.

Social Studies: I can find meaning in text to understand what happened to the Mammoths.  We used a newspaper type handout that discussed all thing Mammoth.  We first discussed what text features were and then made predictions about what we thought happened to the Mammoths.  Then, independently we read about the Mammoth, looking for facts to support our predictions.  Some of our predictions were wrong, but some were right on the money.  We began a video about the Mammoths which is interesting and correlates with our upcoming topic in science.

Homework: Read lesson 2 and do vocabulary on p. 56 with illustrations due Friday.


Science: We took our assessment over the scientific method today.

Homework:  notebook due Friday - they need to have their reflection from our investigation completed - notes of what should be in this reflection are posted on edmodo

Insect project: rubrics and instructions for this project are also posted on edmodo.

Religion: I can use mapping skills to locate coordinates showing where Paul wrote his letters and to whom he wrote them.
